LA CITY FIREFIGHTER EXAMINATION PREPARATION
Captain Bob's free inside "Nuggets”, tips, ideas and inside information on how to get ready for the LA City test are below. Your goal is to score high enough in your oral board so when you leave the interview room they will hand you a background packet. I think this makes the point:
Capt Bob, Many of our candidates were successful in past LA City orals and now proudly wear the badge for LA City. Some had scores of 100 and more (with veterans credits). This just in: Captain Bob, Just wanted to say Thank you so very much for all of your help. I just had my LA City oral and scored 100% and have a background scheduled. They told me that I was the best candidate they have seen all day. This was my very first oral board, I have no firefighter experience, no EMT just a few fire science classes and a CPR cert. I handled the cultural diversity question with the format your suggested and it was a thing of beauty, they were floored, you could see the look of oh my he so gets this question. I had a few rough spots and like you said, they helped me out, its human nature. Thank you again for all of your insight. I’m a true believer and proof that your program works. You want to be ready for every step of the testing process the first time out. Many of our candidates have scored high enough to go forward in the hiring process. Some had few if any previous oral board experience. At first their buddies with far more credentials, experience and years of testing didn't believe them. Then they were angry because it wasn't them going forward. What ever happened to "Good Luck to All?" One successful candidate said, "Remember when I offered to share Captain Bob's program with you and you said you didn't need it? I got hired and only had my EMT!
