Since one-hundred percent of your score to get hired for LA City is in the oral board it’s time to get ready! Just a point or two one way or the other will make the difference in you going forward in the hiring process.

Your goal is to score high enough in your oral board so when you leave the interview room they will hand you a background packet. I think this makes the point:

I just finished taking the oral interview with LA City and wanted to write a quick note.

First I want to thank you for the information and tools that you have supplied me with in your Gold Package Program http://www.eatstress.com/special_offer.htm It worked I scored high enough and have a background scheduled.

As you have said before oral board is the most important step in the process and the step that is least prepared for. Well I can support your statement. As I watched the recording of my score (reading upside down) I noticed 60's and 70's on the scores of those that interviewed before me. I would assume there were about 25 names on the sheet prior to mine. Again the methods you teach do work. Thanks again for your help Rich

Many of our candidates were successful in past LA City orals and now proudly wear the badge for LA City. Some had scores of 100 and more (with veterans credits).

Captain Bob, Just wanted to say Thank you so very much for all of your help. I just had my LA City oral and scored 100% and have a background scheduled. They told me that I was the best candidate they have seen all day. This was my very first oral board, I have no firefighter experience, no EMT just a few fire science classes and a CPR cert. I handled the cultural diversity question with the format your suggested and it was a thing of beauty, they were floored, you could see the look of oh my he so gets this question. I am 19, and live in Orange County. I just took LA City's interview and got into backgrounds. I didn't take any of your classes however I listened to a couple of your CD's. Just wanted to say that they were great and that you really helped my out. Also this was my first oral board, so the CD's were really helpful. Erik

The LA City information states that if you fail the any step of the process you can't be eligible to take the again for another 2 years. You want to be ready for every step of the testing process the first time out.

Many of our candidates have scored high enough to go forward in the hiring process. Some had few if any previous oral board experience. At first their buddies with far more credentials, experience and years of testing didn't believe them. Then they were angry because it wasn't them going forward. What ever happened to "Good Luck to All?" One successful candidate said, "Remember when I offered to share Captain Bob's program with you and you said you didn't need it? I got hired and only had my EMT!

The only guy that did intimidate me at the interview as far as competition ran into the bathroom when I was checking the bottom of my shoes and my hair and threw up. So after that I felt pretty good about it. Keith
