Why "Nothing counts
'til you
have the badge . . .
Nothing!"
Certainly there are other things in life that are far more important
than a badge. Family, health, friends and happiness.
The reason I use this slogan is because I often hear candidates who
don't have a badge yet say in their defense, I have education, experience,
training, a burning desire to get this job as excuses. None of this is going to
matter if you don't get a badge. You're will still be the brides maid.
Ask yourself these questions:
Are you passing the written?
Are you passing the physical agility?
Are you passing the oral high enough to get a shot at the badge?
If you're passing the written and agility, which are usually
pass/fail, and you're not placing high enough on the oral, that's where the
problem exists. What most candidates do if they don't place high enough on the
oral is go back and try to pack on more credentials. Oh, I have to finish my
degree or get through that academy. They do little to nothing in gaining the
skills for the oral board which is usually 100% of the score. If you don't do
anything to improve your oral board skills nothing is going to change, you will
never, ever see that badge. The oral board is for all the marbles. This is where
the rubber meets the road.
No, our program is not for everyone. Those who are critical of our
program usually don't have a clue what we do.
Candidates who get this far in the process usually get discouraged
and tell me they feel like they have hit a wall. They don't know what to do
next. Some of their friends (with fewer credentials) have been hired. They're
frustrated and embarrassed.
I receive e-mails like this one from yesterday:
Dear Capt BoB, I am discouraged. I was in a recent psych/background
process with a large department and a friend of mine got his conditional offer
today and I did not. I am a new medic with six months experience, I have an AA I
am 14 units shy of a bachelors in management, I was in the Marine Corps, I am 34
years old and I felt like my interview with the psychologist went well and I am
unaware of any major background problems. What gives? My friend is 22, no
college a brand new medic himself I just don't understand...Steve
A candidate like this called us last year. Skeptical, he went ahead
and got our program and did the private coaching. He called yesterday that he
had been offered the job of his dreams. He told me when he took the oral for
this department there was a battalion chief on his panel who kept his head down
writing most of the time. When he gave his "Nugget" answer to one question, the
batt chief looked up, put his pen down and focused on his personalized answer (a
real good sign). He said he knew then he had the job. Dan went to his psyc armed
with our special report on how to pass the psych. He said it wasn't difficult
avoiding the land mines during his psych because he knew where they were (This
was probably the problem area with the discouraged candidate above). Dan is
badge number 1,937 in our program. He had rushed out after the ultimate call to
take flowers to his bride to be. He starts the academy in two weeks.
I have been available for years, by phone (toll free) or e-mail (at
no cost) to encourage and give candidates hope (hope is the anchor for the soul)
until they gain their badge. Our web site contains more than 150 free pages of
information on the inside secrets how to get a badge. The average person is on
our web site for 16+ minutes. Many candidates have received their badge by using
our web site as a resource, calling or e-mailing questions to me and never spent
a dime on our products.
Yes we have products. We don't hold a gun to anyone's head to buy
them. Seldom do we have someone who is not satisfied with them. If that happens,
they receive a no questions asked full refund. They are at no risk except they
might get a badge.
It's a great feeling if you can be a part of the change in someone's
life. Multiply that by over 1900 times and you will understand this is my
reward. I have a great passion in seeing candidates get a badge. This is serious
work.
Here's Dan's testimony:
Author: Badge #1937
Subject: I Got The Call!!
Well after five years and 24 test I finally got the call I have been
waiting for. I got the job of my dreams. I can not even begin to express what
this is like. I can finally move on with my life. For the last 5 to 6 years
every bit of my time outside of work has been consumed with trying to get this
job. I have missed family events and weddings to go take test. I quit a good
paying job to take one that paid about half as much, so I could have more time
to go school and to test. I have charged up my credit cards to travel around and
take every test I could. I have broken plans so many times with my girlfriend,
it is amazing she still with me. It has not been easy by any means. I have
gotten a lot of help and support from family and friends and for that I am so
thankful. But their is one Person I can not even begin to thank, and that person
is Capt. Bob. With out his help I would not be writing this long e-mail. Capt
Bob shows you the tools to make your dream come true. He is willing to help you
with any stage of the testing process. For me the biggest help was the private
coaching for the oral board. What a difference it made. Getting the job is a
game and Capt. Bob helps you to learn how to play the game! For those of you who
are critical of Capt. Bob, Know this. I would not have this job with out the
help of Capt. Bob. MY only regret is that I did not call him sooner! So if you
feel stuck and that you may never get this job, check out his web site. See what
he is all about. It's not about the money. The little bit of money I spent was
so worth it. What do you have to lose?
Thanks Capt. Bob and thanks to your son Rob as well. I am forever
grateful to you both.
