Quick Tip
==========================================
Which Story?
Capt. Bob, I'm having a small struggle trying to decide which one of my
signature stories to use for the "Why do you wanna be a F/F?" question.
One involves a ride along from just over a year ago and the other one is
from about 7.5 years ago involving a group of cub scouts when I was
taking them on a tour and the station got a call right at the end of it.
Both were very influential on me. I think I will use the ride along
because it dispels the question of, "Why did you wait so long?" If I use
both of them I'm around two minutes on my delivery. Shorten the first
one into one sentence? Or preface with that? I know they're not packed
for a trip here. I've got the gold package and I understand. I've
thought I would just omit the first one, but, it's a great story and I
don't wanna leave it out. Thanks, Gary
CB Reply: Then use both. Sometimes two stories can have more impact if
you can build a natural bridge between them and omitting the dates. Two
minutes or a little longer is OK. Practice with a tape recorder until it
comes out of your mouth the way you want it to sound.
Gary: Thanks for all your help. I actually feel prepared and I can't
wait for the next oral. It's for my dream dept.
Which Badge?
Captain Bob: I wanted to let you know I got the final offer with another Fire
Dept. I started on Oct 3rd. If anyone wonders if your
program works tell them to look at me. Three fire jobs in 19 months. I
can't thank you enough for the Gold Package Program and all the time you
have spent with me on the phone and through email. Chris
