HomeProud! My firefighter Son Rob called and said, "129". I asked him what "129" was? That was the time the call came in last night, 0129 a.m.. It came in as a car fire. As the apparatus doors opened, the captain could already see smoke and flames from two miles away. Yes, it was a car fire. A car on fire in a garage. The B.C. was there when they arrived on the scene. The crew of three laid a supply line and my Son advanced a 1½ line to the totally involved garage fire. Rob was kicking serious butt. Then, the gas tank let go. That usually turns the fire black. This time it glowed, HOT! . The B. C. was standing behind him as Rob turned the hose line to the ground around them. The B. C. said, "Why did you do that?" As, Rob went to one knee to make the attack on the gas tank. That under control, the line was advanced to make a killer, quick, knock down stop of the fire. The B. C. said, WOW! As, the second in engine arrived for nothing left to do but overhaul. The door from the garage to the kitchen was open about an inch. It caused a small black mark on the kitchen ceiling. The fire had been held to the garage. The point of this story is to let you know how proud your dad will be, when you become the firefighter was want to be, and call him with a hero story of your own. I'm proud as hell of my kid!
