I am so excited! I found out a couple of days ago
that I did awesome on the Oral Board! I made a 98%
which was actually the second highest among the 50
people that they chose to come in to interview...I am
now sitting at number 3 and they are going to hire 12!

I am preparing for the other portions just like I did the oral,

but I am starting to see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Here’s some insight:

We were buying a new cel phone. When one of the sales people noticed my wallet badge, they said, “Hey Ben is trying to become a firefighter. Ben said, So is he.” I asked them if they ever heard of Captain Bob? Ben said you are Captain Bob. This often happens. They know who I am, but don’t say anything.

Turns out they both had failed the SFFD test by just a couple of points. I shared that since 60% of the SFFD test consisted of psych questions (like a lot of entry level written tests now) had they been to our www.eatstress.com site, they would have realized had they read and gone to www.fireprep.com for the inside on these goofy psych questions, they would have passed the written and been part of the 590 candidates left now taking the CPAT. Big groans.

Ben was taking an oral in 4 days. I asked him if he would like to try out a couple of his answers to oral board questions? Sure. Two quick questions produced garbage clone answers after testing for almost two years. The next day we had our weekly drawing for our Audio Tape Program. Surprisingly, Ben was the winner. Ben had already been to our site and entered the drawing. Since he worked near us, it was a treat to drop off the prize. I talked to Ben the next day. He had gone home from work and listened to the entire 3-hour audio program. He told me he couldn’t believe what he had heard.

Ben said the preparation he had done for oral boards was bouncing questions off his friends who were also trying to get on. Since their answers were similar, he felt he had to be in the ballpark. Little did he and his friends know they had become “Clone” answer candidates. There are few if any badges for “Clones”.

Ben called after his oral. Although he was stumped on the question what do you know about our agency (he said that won’t happen again), he felt he was 90% better prepared than any previous oral. He said here I was thinking my oral board answers were good enough to get hired and there was nothing more I could do. When he saw me at the SFFD application day, his group of buddies thought we had this outrageously expensive program, not realizing we had over 200 pages of valuable FREE information on our web site.

Ben said going to the web site and listening to the program has been a big eye opener.
